The Gameplay

The mechanics for this game are simple and easily manageable. It basically works the same way with games like Homescapes. The main goal in My Home is to decorate the house and turn it into your dream home. Generally, you have to start from the very beginning. You play the role of a newly-graduated student who is very eager to try a new life in the big city and start building her new home. Much like other games that fall into the same category, My Home takes you to two different phases; the building phase and the puzzle game.

The building phase is where you design and customize your own house. Instead of the typical isometric and top-down perspective, the game prompts you to a 3D atmosphere. In order to start decorating, you need the required amount of virtual currency which you can earn by playing the tile-matching puzzle. My Home features a Match 3 tile-matching puzzle similar to Playrix’s Gardenscapes and Homescapes mechanics. Simply match 3 or more identical tiles by swapping adjacent tiles together. Each level will give you specific objectives to follow. The level is clear when you meet all the requirements and you will earn rewards in return.

My Home takes you to a series of challenging levels with a varying range of difficulties which will surely put your skills on a test. In the entire course of the game, you will encounter various objectives. Some levels will ask you to collect a certain number of colored pieces while others will ask you to clear a certain number of special tiles. Regardless of your current objective, the main challenge in this game is the limited moves alotted for the player every level.

You must be able to complete your goal before running out of moves. Otherwise, the game will come to a quick end and you have to start the same level back from the very beginning until you managed to make it through. You can, however, get another chance by watching rewarded videos with additional five moves in return. You can also take advantage of the power-ups. If you match four or more tiles of the same color, you will get special powerups that you can use to eliminate more tiles on the grid. The more tiles you match in one swipe, the greater the powerup you can earn.

Decorate Like a Pro

Of course, the best part of this game is the customization. You will be asked to decorate the house from one detail to another. The game will present you all the available upgrades. An icon will appear on the screen which will give you the option to decorate. Each icon will showcase all the available designs as well as the price you need to pay. Take note that you will be decorating your house per area. For example, you will start off designing your living room, followed by the kitchen and bedroom. You will be asked to change the wallpaper, the ceiling fan, the paint and of course, the furniture. Everything will be done based on your very own preferences.

The outcome will depend on your very own creativity. Just be mindful that the game also follows a life system. You can only spend a maximum of 5 energy/ hearts and each will be refilled at a certain time duration.
