As what the title of the game suggests, the main objective in this game is to rescue all the animals by simply helping them cross the roads and guiding them safely back to the farm. Unlike Frogger, this game will highlight not just one but many different animals which makes this game even more colorful and fun. To top it all, Animal Rescue 3D will also allow you to upgrade your farm using the money you earn from each level. The Gameplay

Animal Rescue 3D comes with a very simple set of mechanics and very straightforward rules. As what mentioned above, the main objective is to help the animals cross the road and reach the farms safely. For those who have played the classic Frogger which is an arcade game in the early 90s by Konami, you will find the concept somehow similar. You help the frog cross the road and evade all the obstacles along the way. This game has been embraced and cloned by many other developers and you can see a lot of similar games on both Google and Apple Playstore. One of the popular games that adopted the same concept is Hipster Whale’s Crossy Road.

Despite all the similarities, Animal Rescue 3D is still unique on its own. Instead of a single animal, you will be guiding a long queue of different animals on the road. Here’s how the game works. As soon as the game starts, it prompts you right away to the playing area. It features a straight path for the animals to walk and various roads for them to cross. Simply tap the screen and hold for the animals to move forward and release the hold for them to stop. The game has one major rule, prevent the animals from getting hit by the speeding vehicles, otherwise, the game will come to a quick end.

Rescue and Unlock New Animals

I guess the title of the game is clear enough to know what exactly your mission is. Aside from evading collision with the vehicles, you are also encouraged to rescue different animals. Eventually, you will encounter animals that are placed in metal cages. Simply reach their location and you can set them free and they will also join you all the way to the farm. The more animals you bring to your farm, the better the score you will get. However, if you get hit, the game will give you the option to either watch a reward video or simply end the level. Watching a reward video will revive your animals as well as their current numbers.

However, if you decided not to watch the video, you will lose all your extra animals and you will go back to the default five animals. Another thing that makes Animal Rescue 3D more engaging is the overwhelming number of animals that you can unlock upon reaching certain levels. Aside from the basic cattle and poultry animals, you will eventually encounter animals like panda, turtles, zebras, fox, lions, and more. Players can also take advantage of the “Near Miss Fever”. Located on the far right side of the game screen is the Near Miss meter. Every time you got nearly hit by a vehicle, you will earn a certain “near miss” points. If you have earned enough, it activates the Near Miss Fever. Tap the bar and it turns your animals invincible for a short period of time.

Upgrade The Farm

What really separates Animal Rescue 3D above from other Frogger clones is the ability to upgrade the farm. For each animal that entered the farm, you will earn a Star. The stars are mainly used to upgrade the farm. Interestingly, the farm can be upgraded part by part and you can customize it based on your personal preferences. For each upgrade, the game will allow you to pick among the three available options. Simply pick what you think fits well with your farm.

Upgrading the farm doesn’t really affect the game’s performance but it makes the interface more appealing and it provides the game a remarkable replay value and longevity. Unfortunately, much like most games published by Voodoo, Animal Rescue 3D has too many ads on it. The overwhelming ads that keep on popping up almost every after level are quite a downfall for this game. If only the developers can do something to lessen the frequency or at least place the ads on a clever location, the game could have been more enjoyable.

The Verdict

Animal Rescue 3D is truly a colorful and entertaining game. It captures the wonderful concept of the classic Frogger game and somehow reminds us more of Crossy Road but with an interesting twist. The farm customization is an interesting addition to this game which makes it more distinctive above the rest. The game could have added a leaderboard system or some multiplayer campaigns to make the game more entertaining but we could probably expect those in future development. Overall, Animal Rescue 3D is an interesting addition to your mobile. The game is light enough that it won’t consume much of your phone storage and to top it all, the game works perfectly even without an Internet connection.
