From Idle Monopoly, this game has recently changed its title to AFK Capitalist. Currently in its Beta version, AFK Capitalist is a new incremental game that allows you to run and buy businesses and become the ultimate business tycoon. We’re not really sure why they have to change the title but it must be some copyright issues with Monopoly. Interestingly, prior to the name change, the gameplay of AFK Capitalist is actually way far different from the classic Monopoly board game but the game aptly used the concept the real monopoly market where you take control of the businesses and make sure no other sellers will cater the same product. The Gameplay

The mechanics for AFK Capitalist is generally simple and easily manageable. You basically start the game from scratch. As soon as the game begins, it will prompt you right away to the city. To start earning, simply tap the mansion to collect cash until you have earned enough to purchase your first business. AFK Capitalist is generally an idle game so most of the features here will work even without the player’s interaction. However, despite most features are automated, you still have to manually interact with the game especially when completing your quests. Although you can do almost anything in this game, you still have to rely on your main quests in order to progress.

In the entire course of the game, the player will be asked to buy buildings, recruit staffs, upgrade businesses and clear other competitors with your professional talents. Every time you have completed a quest, you will earn rewards in return which could be in the form of virtual cash, gems, and other valuable items. Unlike the typical idle games that we used to play, AFK Capitalist will not just rely on upgrading buildings to improve your productivity. This game will surely unleash your business management skills as it will also pay attention to hiring staffs and negotiating with other competitors. It even involves using Profit Cards (more like Credit cards in real life) to lend your Talents enough money to clear other businesses.

Become a Business Tycoon

AFK Capitalist comes with one main goal and that is to become a business tycoon. This goal, however, is not easily obtainable as you need to overcome many different challenges along the way. The target is to monopolize other businesses in the city and therefore, you must clear out all competitors. To do so, you must hire the most intelligent and most effective Talents. What really makes Talents more special is the fact that they are merely designed based on various pop-culture references. They are based on different celebrities and high-profile personalities like David Beckham, Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian, Marilyn Monroe, and many others. They will all vary in terms of their profession, level of expertise and level of popularity.

To start clearing businesses, simply tap the Campaign icon on the lowermost panel of the game screen. This will prompt you to nearby areas where most competitors can be found. Random talent will be deployed to negotiate with other business owners. Simply tap the Negotiate button or better yet activate the Auto mode for easy and faster transaction. To seal the deal with the competitors, simply pay them the required amount of money. The higher the level you reach, the higher the price they will need. You can upgrade the talents for a more effective transaction. If in case you run out of cash, you can take advantage of your Profit cards so the bank can lend you money or better yet use the basic method which is done by tapping the mansion repeatedly.

PvP Campaign and Finances

What you can really appreciate with AFK Capitalist is the progress itself. You can see how you transitioned from small-time business owner to a highly influential business tycoon. To top it all, this game has many other features to offer and many other equally-engaging campaigns to explore. You can explore various Investments, manage your overall Finances or even participate in the game’s PvP campaigns. The game comes with many different events such as Rank Rush which allows you to compete with other business tycoons.

There’s an interactive Server Rank system which will display all the top players based on their Profits, War Rank and Talent Rank. To top it all, the game will also display the overall Cross-Server rank (which means players worldwide). Other notable engaging features include Rides, Daily Challenges, Achievements, Limited Rewards, Privileges, and Safe system. There’s also a Chat system that allows you to broadcast messages to other players within the same server.

The Verdict

AFK Capitalist is generally simple yet absolutely fun and entertaining. It is not your typical idle game as it requires you to exert the best of your analytical and business management skills to maximize your profits effectively. Appearance-wise, the game is an absolute visual delight. It comes with colorful graphics and you’ll appreciate all their pop-culture references.
