Fortnite Update: Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 Delayed for Another Week!

It seems like the wait for the new season of Fortnite is taking forever! Well, apparently, the release date of the highly anticipated Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 is delayed again for another week and Epic Games has a valid reason for it. Originally, Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 was supposed to end last April but due to the coronavirus outbreak, the company had to push it back and scheduled the release of Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 on June 4.

Normally, a Season in Fortnite often lasts for 10 weeks but due to some uncertainties, Epic Games had no other options but to delay the release of the upcoming season. Unfortunately for Chapter 2 Season 2, despite offering great feats, players had to bear with the game for a little while. The coronavirus outbreak, the global pandemic made a huge impact not just in Epic Games alone but in the entire gaming community which resulted in some major delays for both the production and releases. The release date for Chapter 2 Season 3 of Fortnite was initially moved to June 4. Despite the extension, Epic Games continuously gave us updates and new challenges to explore.

When the initial end date for Season 2 was nearly approaching, gamers were greeted by a countdown timer to indicate the number of days left before the so-called Doomsday Event will occur. However, the release date for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 was once again pushed to a new date. Epic Games delayed the release until June 11. They released an announcement stating that the delay was done in an effort to get everything ready for the major changes with Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3.

When everything is going smoothly, another event made a huge impact that resulted in another delay. A day before the supposed launch of the Live event, Epic Games released a new statement, in observance of the George Floyd incident.

“Recent events are a heavy reminder of ongoing injustices in society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color. We’re acutely aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players, and communities are experiencing.”

In addition to this, Epic Games also noted that the even the team is eager to move on,  the company is currently attempting to balance the launch with the time required to deal with the issues facing the world. The live event that is known as The Device will now begin on Monday, June 15, counting down to the launch of Season 3 on Wednesday, June 17.

The highly anticipated live event is just two days away from now and everyone is really excited about this huge event that might result in some major changes for Season 3. Epic Games has noted that The Device event is going to be held at 2:00 pm EST Little is known yet for this massive event and Epic Games is not yet releasing any major details on what exactly players can expect from this event. However, they warn players that they should try and enter the lobby for up to 30 minutes before the event takes place. This is to ensure that the servers are able to handle the number of people watching the event!
