The Gameplay

The concept of the game actually reminds me of the Bob The Robber flash game series by Kizi. However, Robbery Bob, despite sharing similarities, is done and played in a very unique manner. First of all, the game welcomes you in a 3D top-down perspective compare to the 2D conventional graphics by Bob The Robber. The mechanics of the game are generally simple and easily manageable yet the player is strongly encouraged to visualize every situation carefully before making any moves. If you got caught, the police will arrive and you will get busted. This will give you no other option but to start the same level back from the very beginning until you managed to make it through.

Robbery Bob features basic game controls. You move around the map using the virtual joypad and you run by tapping the run icon on the lower right corner of the game screen. The main objective is to collect all the valuables within the house. The collectible item often shines to help you identify your target. Once you have gathered all the valuables, you need to find your way out without getting caught.

Become the Master of Stealth

Each level in Robbery Bob is rated from one to three stars (with three stars being the highest). In order to achieve a perfect rating, you have to accomplish three things. First is to prevent Bob from being caught. Second is to complete your task on time and third is to collect all the valuables in the house. Each objective corresponds to a star. For example, you managed to escape the house quickly without being caught but you only collected a partial amount of valuables. Therefore, the rate is only 2 stars. If you got caught but you managed to flee away, you will only get a star (if only partial amount were collected).

Basically, it is all about stealth. The player must be skillful enough to hide and prevent himself from being caught, otherwise, the game will come to a quick end and you have to start over. From time to time, you will also encounter boxes. You can hide from these boxes and make it part of your stealth strategy. As you progress to the game, the situation will become more and more complicated. You must come up with an effective strategy to maximize your chances in winning.

Upgrading Bob and Using Shadow Bob

To make Bob more efficient and effective robber, it is very ideal to upgrade his basic attributes. You can do the upgrades prior to each mission. Simply tap the bag icon on the upper left corner of the game screen (beside the fast forward and pause buttons). This will give you access to the Store which allows you to upgrade Bob’s stealth, stamina, grab-ability, and speed. You can also equip Bob with various utilities such as Rotten Donut that incapacitates guards and other items of distractions to prevent you from getting caught.

If you want to take your mission to an all new level. You can purchase Shadow Bob using real money. Shadow Bob is more like the game’s hint features. When Shadow Bob is activated, the shadow will move on its own and will show you the proper way of stealing. All you need is to follow the Shadow to create a perfect and undetected robbery crime.
